Sa wa dee ka! Join our University of Michigan BLUElab team as we collaborate with Chiang Mai University’s PURPLElab to co-design with the community of Mae Chan, Chiang Rai to see where we have the greatest collaborative impact on flood mitigation.
Our Purpose (as described by our community partners, University supporters and Project Leaders): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yga_opLuqo
Our Mission: BLUElab Thailand unites students from multiple disciplines at the University of Michigan in pursuit of creating sustainable solutions for flood mitigation in our partner district of Mae Chan, Thailand with the collaboration of Chiang Mai University students and faculty as well as Michigan-based supporters such as BLUElab, the Center for Socially-Engaged Design and University of Michigan faculty.
In addition to our partnerships with the Center for Socially-Engaged Design, we are grateful to have established sincere relationships with our peers and faculty at Chiang Mai University, contributing support for the foundation of our partner organization: PURPLElab. This student-and-faculty-led organization not only allows members to work with us to create a viable solution in Mae Chan, but also serves as an educational source for those who are interested in human-centered design.
Our Values: We believe that design is about people (human-centered and socially-engaged) and that the best designs are sustainable: not just socially, but economically and environmentally ,in tune with the Triple Bottom Line.
We instill BLUElab’s core values in our members: sustainability, collaboration, servant leadership, community, and education.
