For a history and description on BLUElab at the University of Michigan and the Thailand Team working in Northern Thailand: http://bluelab.engin.umich.edu/thailand-team.html
Project Location(s): Northern Thailand
Current Focus: Our team completed a partnership development (2016) and needs assessment (2017) trip in Northern Thailand. We have identified 4 project scopes and will work to recruit and prototype over this next year.
Mission: Our current mission is to find out where BLUElab’s design process can have the greatest impact in a community in Northern Thailand.
Team History: BLUElab Thailand started in the Spring of 2016. In June 2016 a few team members traveled to Northern Thailand as part of a partnership development trip and formed a relationship with faculty at Chiang Mai University.
In the Summer of 2017, we assembled a travel team to focus on a needs assessment trip to Mae Chan by design ethnography and needs filtering. We worked closely with Chiang Mai University’s OASYS’ research lab.
Partner Organization: Chiang Mai University (Chiang Mai, Thailand)
